Throughout 25 years in education, 14 years as a Principal, and 3 years in his current position as Principal of Bayonne High School, Keith Makowski has demonstrated a profound commitment to fostering student leadership, innovation, and empowerment, supporting its Student Council program and advocacy for student-led initiatives that have significantly impacted the Bayonne school community.

In the words of Student Council President Evelyn Martinez Pena, “He constantly encourages opportunities that bring students together and create lasting memories.  He is always present, always involved, and always willing to help. He has been my principal since kindergarten at Lincoln Community School, and even back then his love for students and community was impossible to miss.”

In the words of Student Council Advisor Kerry Weinstein, “He actively supports our Student Government both in our school and with NJASC, consistently allocating time from his demanding schedule to meet with us and offer his support, constructive feedback, and approval for our student proposed initiatives.”

In the words of Business Education Teacher Donna Schaefer, "It is both inspiring and rewarding to see him serving as Principal of the very school from which he graduated, and the same school where I continue to teach. His journey is a true testament to perseverance, commitment, and the lasting impact that education and community can have on a person’s life."
